There is a rough gravel driveway there currently which leads to a small one to two car parking area. There is an existing "tiny home" next to the drive. The purpose of the permit is for a stream crossing so they can access the other side of their property with a vehicle. I do not think they have any additional plans for development there. So technically I wouldn't call it a driveway but a crossing, or I guess you could call it an extension of the driveway? But it's basically a stand-alone crossing as I understand it. I did speak with Amanda in regards to this project and I don't recall if she recommended the NW18 or if we assumed that because that is what we typically use for culverted stream crossings. I do remember her telling me that we were required to get written approval for the permit from the corps because the stream is trout and the work would be performed during the trout moratorium. Since they aren't actually expanding their residence I didn't think it would be appropriate for the NW29. Let me know if you have any questions! I'm happy to discuss over the phone if you prefer. For this project, I'm unclear, the application states there is a gravel driveway there now, is this a replacement culvert/driveway or a new driveway for additional development (a second driveway?). I need to document avoidance and minimization and I'm not clear on what's already there or going on at the site, sorry. And did you talk to Amanda about using the NWP18? I usually see driveways put under a NWP29 so wondering if there was something unusual about this one that she suggested a NWP18. No big deal really, just trying to understand.
