Pre -Filing Meeting Information
Before submitting this form please ensure you have submitted the Pre -Filing Meeting Request Form as we will not be able
to accept your application without this important first step. The Pre -Filing Meeting Request Form is used in accordance
with 40 C.F.R. Section 121.4(a) "At least 30 days prior to submitting a certification request, the project proponent shall
request a pre -filing meeting with the certifying agency" and in accordance with 40 C.F.R. Section 121.5(b)(7), and (c)(5)
all certification requests shall include documentation that a pre -filing meeting request was submitted to the certifying

7. Describe proposed work (include discussion as to how hardening of shoreline has been
avoided, or why it is necessary):
In order to control shoreline soil erosion on our residential lot, we are
proposing to stabilize the shoreline through use of class B or larger size
rip rap with filter cloth and nominal bank reshaping. The eroded bank
height is uneven with the majority of points being greater than or equal to
3 ft., therefore landscaping plantings or bioengineering techniques are not
sufficient to control the erosion. In order to stabilize the bank to address
subsoil erosion, we propose to use construction equipment from the land
side and request to remove the necessary trees and vegetation along the
shoreline for equipment access and to allow for installation of rip rap. The
shaping of the shoreline will be limited to the amount of soil that jettisons
over the existing bank to allow for proper placement of rip rap along the
entire shoreline. This will integrate with both neighbors existing shoreline
stabilization.

Approximately 40 trees that are greater than 3 inches in diameter and
smaller trees/saplings as needed. Some trees adjacent to the 50 ft. buffer
may need some pruning.

Application Fee:
Once the application has been accepted. You will need to send a corresponding fee in with the appropriate DWR#. The
application fee is as follows (pursuant to G.S. 143-215.3D):
a $240.00 for impacts to lake (below normal water level) of less than 1 acre
o $570.00 for impacts to lake (below normal water level) of greater or equal to 1 acre

Please give a brief project description below.*
We would like to obtain all needed permits to place a dock and stabilize the
shoreline for a residential lot on Lake Norman. The stabilization will be
riprap. The dock will be a floating dock The PCN has been submitted to
ACE and we are currently awaiting approval of the permit from ACE. We
have already secured the appropriate zoning and building permits from
Iredell County.
Please give a couple of dates you are available for a meeting.
