Alternative 2 - Phased Expansion at MCWRF to 16 MGD
Phase 1: Construct upggrades required to
provide capacity to 14.9 MGD by 2023. These
will allow meeting projected treatment demand
through 2027.
• Build new IPS with new screens for new deeper
relief sewer
• Expand existing IPS by 2021 until new IPS is built
• Build additional offline EQ
• Modify Train 3 diffuser grids
Construct new blower building
• Implement advanced aeration control strategies
• Construct additional alkalinity storage and feed
facilities
• Phase 2: Construct upgrades by 2026 to
provide capacity to 16 MGD. These will allow
meeting demand through 2030.
• Upgrade the existing blowers, their electrical, and
replace underground air piping
• Construct Primary Clarifier 6 and Final Clarifier 4
• Perform effluent piping improvements

- 1993 model report:
• Basis of current limits
"Mallard Creek WWTP... does not significantly affect BOD concentrations alongthe
Rocky River..."
• Mallard Creek actually predicted to improve DO in Rocky River
• 2001 model report:
• Confirmed that Mallard Creek was not predicted to cause DO exceedances
