Also - would it be possible for us to survey Spice Bottom Creek on the property at some point in the spring? This is a location where the trout community is shifting from the native Brook Trout to the non-native Brown Trout, and we would love to gauge the current health of the fish community. If the landowner agrees, I'd like to put her in touch with one of our fisheries biologists. I wanted to talk to you a little about the Spice Bottom Creek Crossing. Is there any way you would consider allowing them to work during the moratorium considering they are using a pump -around and since it's only around 30 feet of impact? I have spoken with the contractor and he has assured me he will adhere to strict erosion control methods and will minimize impacts at all costs. The landowner did try to get permitting and construction done before October 15t", but she had a very hard time permitting on her own (her contractor told her he talked to DWR and she didn't require a permit?), and we didn't have enough time once she did hire us to get permitting done before the moratorium began. If you'd like to discuss this project with me I'm working from home today and can be reached on my cell phone: 828-406-9508. Thanks, Josselyn J&ys,e, -y pv K.
