Dear Permittee:
The Non -Discharge Permitting Unit has received and processed an engineering certification for the
subject permit. The certification has been accepted by the Division, and no further action is necessary.
For your information, please note that the certification was incomplete due to the reasons listed below.
However, the certification has been accepted and no additional documentation needs to be
submitted to the Division for this particular certification.
This letter is intended to serve as notification that the Permittee is responsible for ensuring that they have
complete documentation on file and that the project was completed in accordance with the approved
plans and specifications, and in conformity with 15A NCAC 2H .0200; the Division's Gravity Sewer
Minimum Design Criteria adopted February 12, 1996 as applicable; the Division's Minimum Design
Criteria for the Fast -Track Permitting of Pump Stations and Force Mains adopted June 1, 2000 as
applicable.

❑ Pump station calculations and supporting documents are not present. These are required upon
completion of all projects issued a permit through the Division's Fast -Track process that involve
pump stations. Supporting documentation required are indicated in the Minimum Design
Criteria.
❑ Pump station calculations and supporting documents are not complete. Please refer to section
1.03(B)(1) of the Minimum Design Criteria for a list of items required for engineering
calculations.
❑ PE seal, signature or date is missing from the Engineering Certification Form.
❑ PE seal, signature or date is missing from the record drawings. A PE must certify that the record
drawings are acceptable by noting and dating the review of the as-builts. A Professional Land
Surveyor Seal is not adequate.
® The record drawings do not show all of the required information (i.e. plan/profile of all sewer
lines, all treatment component locations and sizes, site map, etc.).

Please note that although 15A NCAC 2H .0220 allows operation of a system upon receipt of an
engineering certification by the Division, receipt of engineering certifications in no way absolves the
Permittee's responsibility to ensure the project meets all statutes, regulations and design criteria
associated with the project.
Please note that any record drawings and other supporting documents submitted will be forwarded to the
appropriate regional office along with a copy of the certification. Please keep this letter and Engineering
Certification with your subject permit/record drawings file.
