The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Pilot Travel Center #393
on 12/03/2020. DWR staff verified the facility has been closed out and is no longer discharging to waters of the
State, and therefore, NDPES Permit No. NC0086053 is no longer required and can be rescinded. Please submit

Mikal Willmer, with the Asheville Regional Office, conducted a closure inspection of the Pilot Travel
WWTP on 12/03/2020. This inspection was conducted to verify the facility no longer has an active
discharge and has been adequately closed out.
The Pilot Travel Center was connected on to the JSD collection system (WQCS00182) in September
2020. Environmental Inc. operated the facility until there was no longer a discharge. At the time of my
site visit, the facility had been backfilled, the fencing and electrical removed and the soil had been
graded and sowed. ORC, Joedavid Hall, sent a photo of the concrete filled effluent pipe before the
facility was backfilled.
Based on the closure inspection and information conveyed by the ORC and Mr. Fass (Dynamis), Pilot
is no longer discharging to waters of the State and therefore NPDES Permit No NC0086053 is no
longer required and can be rescinded. A rescission request can be submitted to Mr. Charles Weaver
in our NPDES Permitting Branch via email at [e-mail].
