Subject: MBA McKinney Sunbelt - NCWRC comments
Hi Amanda and Andrew:
I have reviewed the information sent to me about the MBA McKinney Sunbelt project, which involves the
stabilization of 431 ft of Sweeten Creek with geolifts, sloping, and planting a 30-ft buffer, as well as the
culverting of 70 ft of an unnamed tributary to Sweeten Creek in Buncombe County. I visited the site on
12/7/2020. The project should not impact wild trout and a trout moratorium is not needed for this project.
We appreciate the adjustment to project design to minimize impacts to the unnamed tributary, as well as the
use of bioengineering techniques and stormwater management practices in the design. Thank you for
allowing me the opportunity to review this project.
