G reg,
Thank you again for taking the time for the site visit yesterday to Sunset Beach. The discussion helped me understand
the concerns and hopefully move the project forward.
In regards to our discussion concerning the potential impacts to established marsh grasses in the Feeder Channel system
and Bay Area, the attached maps were provided to DCM in support of the state permit in March 2019.
Under the state permit, the applicant agreed to maintain a 10-ft buffer from any established grasses. New maps showing
a current survey of the marsh grass at the time of, or immediately prior to construction, would also be expected as part
of the DCM permit.
I wanted to provide these drawings now for review, as the conversation is fresh, but will also provide them in the
applicants formal response to the comments received as part of the USACE permitting process.
Thank you again for your assistance on this project and please let me know if I can provide any additional information!
(Please note, I have revised these drawings from the ones submitted to DCM to indicate the date of the field surveys and
the aerial photography used to estimate the marsh grass presence.)
Best Regards,
Robert Neal, P.E.
