DANIEL SMITH Director December 3, 2020 MEMORANDUM____________________________________________________ To: The File From: Donna Hood, Division of Water Resources, Mooresville Regional Office Subject: Meeting/email correspondence for Apple Creek Business Park 401 resubmittal A 404/401 Pre-Construction Application was originally submitted on February 4, 2020 (BIMS 2020 0186) and subsequently returned on April 14, 2020. Since the return, numerous phone calls, emails, and conference calls have occurred between myself, Michael Iagnocco (STV Inc), Blake Guffey (NC DOT Division 12), Jonathan Moore (NC DOT Hydraulics), Morgan Woolner (Benesch), and Benjamin Simpson (Benesch) to facilitate a design review approval prior to the formal resubmittal. Design approval by NC DOT hydraulics was achieved on December 2, 2020. Substantive but not exhaustive email correspondence is as follows: August 17, 2020—resubmittal of information for DWR (and USACE) preliminary review August 18, 2020---response requesting NC DOT design approval August 18, 2020---request sent to NC DOT from NC DWR requesting design approval August 19, 2020---response from NC DOT to DWR stating additional approval and design revisions required August 21, 2020---email to STV, Inc from DWR inquiring about design revision status September 25, 2020---status update, subsequent request for design approval from NC DOT October 29, 2020---NC DOT hydraulic comments to design firm November 4, 2020---STV request for update, DWR request for approval by NC DOT November 11, 2020---Benesch is in the process of addressing NC DOT hydraulic comments December 2, 2020---email confirmation of NC DOT hydraulic design approval Conference call: November 20, 2020—design review conference call with NCDOT, Benesch, DWR Based on the amount of communication, the 30 pre-filing requirement has been met.
