Signed: Alt1t[KXvki Gavin Milliga Received By: Date: CAPE FEAR ENGINEERING December 2, 2020 Wilmington Regional Office Water Quality Section Dean Hunkele Subject: Waterside Phase 3 Gravity Sewer System serving 253 Lots for Phase 3 Pender County, North Carolina Cape Fear Engineering, Inc. (CFE) is requesting a new gravity sewer system permit for Waterside Phase 3, a proposed residential subdivision. The gravity sewer system extension permit being requested at this time will serve Phase 3 of the project which will consist of 253 residential single family lots. There is a single gravity sewer trunk line proposed to serve Phase 3 subdivision. All flow will eventually be discharged to an existing sanitary sewer manhole #15 (W00039115) located within Phase I of the project. From there, all flow will enter the previously permitted 10-inch line that extends down Edgewater Way to Roland Ave. where ultimately wastewater flows from the project will discharge to the Surf City W WTP High - Rate Infiltration and Wastewater Irrigation System (WQ0000795). A Flow Tracking/Acceptance Form was approved by the Town of Surf City for the additional flow and a signed form is included in this submittal. Please find all included items listed below: • $480 Application Fee • Fast Track Sewer System Extension Application (FTA 04-16) • Flow Tracking/Acceptance Form (FTSE 04-16) • USGS Location Map/Aerial Map • Sewer Project Narrative • Technical Specifications • Construction Plans I trust that the information provided is sufficient for your approval of this modification request and execution of the permit application. The project is located approximately '/e miles southeast along NC 210/NC 50.1 Roland Ave. from the intersection where NC 210 and NC 50 merge. Waterside Phase 3 will include the development of 253 single family residential lots. Wastewater flows from the proposed Phase 3 will be conveyed through a new gravity sewer system. There is one gravity sewer system trunk line in Phase 3. After flow from the entire project area is conveyed to SSMH 445, it will discharge to existing manhole 1115 along Fdgewater Way in Phase IA. Ultimately wastewater flows will discharge to the Surf City WWTP High -Rate Infiltration and Wastewater Irrigation System (WQ0000795). Ile proposed gravity sewer system for Waterside Phase 3 consists of approximately 8,990 LF of 8-inch gravity main. WASTEWATER PROJECTION: Per 15A NCAC 02T .0114 each lot will have an average daily flow of 360 GPD. With 253 lots in Phase 3, the anticipated flow will be 91,080 GPD. SYSTEM DESIGN: Gravity Pipe System: The gravity sewer system for the project has been sized in accordance with the requirements set forth in "NCDENR Minimum Design Criteria for the permitting of Gravity Sewers". TREATMENT FACILITY: The proposed wastewater flow of 91,080 GPD for Phase 3 of the project has been approved by the Surf City W WTF High -Rate Infiltration and Wastewater Irrigation System. At such time additional flow capacity is required for future phases it will be requested. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE: The Town of Surf City will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system.
