Subject: Seawall and Boathouse at Ellison Residence - NCWRC comments
Hi David and Kaylie,
I have reviewed the information sent to me about the Seawall and Boathouse at the Ellison Residence project,
which involves the construction of a 142-ft seawall that will replace an existing seawall and construction of a
new boathouse along 70 ft of shoreline, permanently impacting 0.05 acre and temporarily impacting 0.02 acre
of L. Toxaway in Transylvania County. The project should not impact wild trout and a trout moratorium is
not needed for this project.
Please note that concrete should be allowed to completely cure (at least 24 hours) in the dry in order to avoid
dangerous pH levels in the lake. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to review this project.
