Roberto,
As per our phone conversation today at 11:24 AM, we had a release of sodium hypochlorite to our In plant pump
station.
The in plant pump station discharges to the grit facility and then is mixed with influent and RAS. I have determined that
approximately 1500 gallons was sent to the pump station and pumped to the grit facility. The release started at
approximately 9am and was stopped at 9:45am. This root cause was determined to be that the manual relief valve in the
fill cabinet was left open while the chemical tank was filling. At this time we are unsure if there will be any impact to
treatment. We are monitoring our final clarifier effluent for ammonia, we will collect samples every 30 minutes for the
first 4 hours and then every hour for the following 20 hours. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to
contact me any time.
