Project Narrative
Granite Mill Rehabilitation Project Permit Modification
The proposed project consists of a 9.30-acre parcel which has multiple structures
located in Haw River, North Carolina. The development will consist of multiple buildings
that are being rehabilited for residential housing. There will be two lift station packages
located on this site. One located on the western side of the property and another
located adjacent to building "K". The package located on the western side of the
property is located in the 100-yr. flood plan and will have watertight materials and all
controls and generators will be located 2' above the flood limit. The two packages will
flow into a joint force main that will tie into a new manhole that will gravity flow into
the existing sanitary sewer system. The sewage will be processed in Burlington, NC.
Flow tracking letter for Haw River and Burlington are enclosed in this permit. The lift
station will be privately owned and maintained.
The modification of the Existing permit (WQ0041324) will be the length of the force
main for building "G" due to the force main being rerouted for utility conflicts which in
turn requires a 20-foot section of gravity sewer to be added with a new manhole. In
addition, the building "G" lift station will as set of 55 GPM with 56 TDH pumps and the
building "K" lift station will have a set of 35GPM with 40TDH pumps. The total flow for
the building "K" lift station will be 11040 GPD with a 25-foot section of force main that
will tie into the force main from building "G".

III. Certification Statement:
I Sean Tencer certify to the best of my knowledge that the addition of
the volume of wastewater to be permitted in this project has been evaluated along the route to the receiving
wastewater treatment facility and that the flow from this project is not anticipated to cause any capacity
related sanitary sewer overflows or overburden any downstream pump station en route to the receiving
treatment plant under normal circumstances, given the implementation of the planned improvements
identified in the planning assessment where applicable. This analysis has been performed in accordance
with local established policies and procedures using the best available data. This certification applies to
those items listed above in Sections I and II plus all attached planning assessment addendums for which I
am the responsible party. Signature of this form certifies that the receiving collection system or treatment
