Duke Energy Progress LLC—H.F. Lee Energy Complex NCDEQ/DWR/NPDES
Wayne County
Dear Mr. Poupart:
Duke Energy respectfully submits this letter to amend our existing NPDES application under
which the plant currently operates. The amendment is to disclose the use of MobyFloc, see
attached SDS. The product is a flocculant Duke Energy intends to use in our truck wash system
to remove ash prior to ash hauling to the Beneficiation STAR unit. The truck wash is located
within the 1982 ash basin. Please include this with the relevant permit files.
Based on discussion, it is our understanding that with this modification to the existing permit
application, no permit modification would be necessary and Duke is authorized to utilize this
additive.
Should you have any questions regarding this submittal, or require additional information,
please contact Joyce Dishmon at (336) 623-0238 or email joyce.dishmon@duke-energy.com.
