Site inspection was conducted on December 14, 2020 by Kevin Mitchell with the Asheville Regional Office. Reid
Whitehead and Jason Chastain were present during the inspection. The following are items that need attention.
- ~ Station L 28+30 LT (Site 1) - Stabilize between silt fence and headwall. This was pointed out during the last 2
inspections in October and November. Add stone to silt fence outlet.
- ~ Station L 80+00 LT & L 83+00 LT (Site 4) - Remove coir logs from JS. These were approved as a temporary
measure to collect residual sediment in the culverts.
- ~ Station L 95+00 LT (Coleman Creek) - Remove silt fence from stream.
- ~ Station L 96+00 LT - Stabilize slopes.
- ~ Station L 117+50 RT (Site 8) - Remove sediment in jurisdictional stream. Remove coir fiber from stream bed. Needs
immediate attention.
- ~ Station L 147+00 RT - Stabilize area with temporary groundcover.
- ~ Station L 179+00 LT (Blair Creek) - Work area inundated due to high water. Improve impervious dike with additional
sand bags.
