Dear Ms. Cragnolin:
Staff of the Division of Water Quality reviewed the initial application and submitted
comments to you and Recreation, Engineering & Planning on November 15, 2002. We received
a response to our letter and the Corps of Engineers letter on December 10, 2002. The response
we received did not answer many of the questions we asked, specifically items 4 through 8 (see
copy of November 15, 2002 letter).
Based on the response from Recreation, Engineering & Planning the Division of Water
Quality additional information is needed before we can proceed with review of the 401
Certification application. On January 31, 2003, 1 contacted Mr. Michael Harvey, Recreation,
Engineering & Planning and requested that a meeting be held with representatives of Riverlink,
U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wildlife Resources Commission and the Division of Water
Quality, to discuss this project. Mr. Harvey is to get back to me sometime this week to schedule
the meeting.
Until the requested information is received and approved we are placing this project on
hold for our processing purposes due to incomplete information, in accordance with 15 A NCAC
2H. 0507 (h). If you have questions, please call me at 828/251-6208.
