North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposes to replace an existing bridge with piping. Biologists with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission are familiar with habitat values in the area. These comments are provided in accordance with the.provisions _ r . . of the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act (48 Stat. 401, as amended; 16 U.S.C. 661-667d) and: the North Carolina Environmental Policy Act (G.S. 113A-1 through 113A-10; NCAC25). The NCDOT project will replace the referenced 15' long bridge with a double barrel 40' x 73" x 55" pipe with concrete headwalls. Total impacts are indicated to be 120 linear feet. No listed species or trout are indicated. Based on our review of the submittal and our knowledge of area habitats, we will not object to the project providing the culvert is installed as specified in the end view provided with the application with pipe # 2 being located a foot below the stormwater pipe.
