Sue:
As you can see, this one has been hanging around for quite a while. I think we did the IRT site visit in 2007. There was
some delay as the landowner wanted to build crawfish ponds somewhere very close to the restoration project, and the
IRT was quite concerned. Apparently those plans are no longer on the table.
The application is now in; I assume you were sent a copy.
This one will be issued by WSRO.
There has been extensive input from the IRT agencies, as you will see in the application package. They appear to have
addressed the concerns/issues presented by the agencies. My only issue with the current plan is that the proposed
"marsh treatment area" being installed to treat runoff from the adjacent pasture (see sheets 2B and 4) does not appear
to be located within the conservation easement. While I am happy they are installing it, this may be a concern because
the property is used for livestock (horses at the time we were out there) so it appears the horses would have access to
this area. At a minimum we probably need to send an ad info letter requesting clarification that it is indeed outside the
easement, and if so, what will keep the horses (or the landowner) from getting into this area.
Let me know if you want to discuss.
Eric
