Wilson Surface Water Protection Section 2090 US Hwy 70 Swannanoa, NC 28778 DWQ Project #10-0559 September 24, 2010 Dear Ms. Wilson, Enclosed is a sketch of our proposed shoreline stabilization project. We propose to apply dry stack stone boulders 6 feet high, along 150 feet of shoreline following Duke Power guidelines to stabilize and prevent further erosion. The contractor will use a barge to bring rock and equipment. His crew will build the wall using a mid-size track hoe and by hand. No trees will need to be removed. Mulch will be applied to the disturbed area. He will begin work as soon as permitted since the lake has already been drawn down. We will use a floating dock and ramp system. The ramp will connect at the retaining wall. No asphalt will be used. If you need any additional information please call or e-mail me at the above address.
