Beaverdam Creek Sewer Line Schedule Update
DWQ 03-0426, Dewberry Project No. 02052.01
Dear Mr. Smith:
As a follow-up to the 401 Water Quality Certification with Additional Conditions, we are sending you
this letter to update you on the anticipated construction schedule for this project. Easement acquisition
for the Beaverdam Creek Sewer Line Restoration Plan is underway by the City of Raleigh. Some
complications are being experienced obtaining easements due to the map overlap issue (shown on the
Restoration Plan). Pending the acquisition of easements, the City anticipates beginning construction of
the Restoration Plan January 2004. The City of Raleigh is committed to completing construction of the
Restoration Plan by the April 1, 2004 deadline established by DWQ.
Meanwhile, the City is pleased to inform you that construction of the Big Branch Restoration Plan (DWQ
03-0573) is ahead of schedule. Upon completion of the Big Branch Restoration Plan, the City plans to
begin construction of the Nancy Ann Drive Sewer Line repair Improvement Plan. The City has obtained
a 404 permit and Nationwide Permit 3 for the Nancy Ann Drive project. While no 401 certification was
needed for the Nancy Ann Drive project, DWQ did request to be kept abreast of progress with this
project.
