The Animal'Feeding Operations Program of f the Division of Water Resources(Division)has completed a
preliminary review of your application for permit modification regarding the planned innovative waste
management system for Kilpatrick Farm 1,2,4&5 &Merritt Farm. Additional information is required
before we may continue our review. Please address and submit the following item(i)within 30 (thirty)
days a receipt of this letter: "
❑ Operation&Maintenance Plan-The O&M plan needs to be updated to reflect the operation'of
the covered`lagoon.We ask that this O&M plan clearly outlines the routine sludge management
and removal methods to be put into practiceregar•ding the covered lagoon. Additionally,please
provide a statement outlining what is planned to be done regarding existing sludge levels in the
lagoon prior to the cover's installation.

0 Digester Drawings-The dimensions of the key way trench differ between callouts 2, 3,&4 On
• page C:3.4 of the digesterdrawings,Please amend the drawings with the true dimensions to be
used. . •
0 Site Drawings=The site plans indicate that the 6"1-DPE outflow pipe at the effluent pump
station will tie into an existing 3"pipe.Please provide assurances that this reduction in pipe size
will not be a choke point in the flow of effluent from the effluent pump station to the existing

0 . Site Drawings- It is recommended that either a typical drawing detail or plan specification be
provided for pipe crossings in the event that a waste pipeline crosses or runs in close proximity to.
