The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is proposing to replace the subject bridge. The purpose of the project is to replace the functionally obsolete 20’ W x 32’ L reinforced concrete deck on steel I-beam bridge with a 33’ W x 60’ L x 24” H cored slab bridge unit. The new bridge unit will sit at a 120 degree skew on 4.0' end bent cap. The existing stable ditches will be maintained. Streambanks will be armored will Class 1 rip-rap above the OHWM under the bridge. The proposed bridge drainage system inculde 1 outlet pipe located at the northwest portion of the bridge.
