Subject: Courtesy notification for the use of aNW 3 & 13 request for pipe replacement and riprap
placement on SR 1339 (Mainstem Rd) in Hyde County.
This is a courtesy notification from the North Carolina Department of Transportation for the use of
a NW 3 & 13 permit for the replacement of a pipe and riprap placement on SR 1339 in Hyde County. The
pipe is located 0.5 miles north of NC 45 (35.632789, - 76.57441). The existing pipe is I @ 48" x 49'
Corrugated Metal Pipe. The pipe will be completely removed, following NCDOT BMP's for pipe
replacement. The proposed pipe is I @ 96" x 50' Corrugated Aluminum Alloy Pipe with riprap on both
ends. The pipe is located in a UT to the Pungo River Canal, Class "C, Sw, NSW" waters. Permit drawings
and a topo map are included in this letter. If you need any additional information or have any questions
