Reference is made to your request for rescission of the non -discharge groundwater remediation
permit referenced above. Based upon information provided to staff of the Central Office and the
Washington Regional Office, your request to rescind this permit is approved. Therefore, in
accordance with your request, Permit WQ0035748 is rescinded with an effective date of this letter.
NOTE: The injection wells used for this project, which will now be used for monitoring, will
need to be abandoned per 15A NCAC 02C .0240 when this project is complete.
If, in the future, you wish to operate a groundwater remediation system, you must first apply for
and receive a new permit. Operating an injection system without a valid permit may result in the
assessment of civil penalties and/or the use of other enforcement mechanisms available to the state.
