Size and Location of Property (waterbody, road name/number, town, etc.): Project area is located alone
the Dickey Bell off-road vehicle Trail 096A), parallel to Green Gap Road (Forest System Road
#6584), adjacent to Dutch John Creek, approximately 15 miles northwest of Troy, Montgomery
County, North Carolina.
Description of Activity: Installation of steel bridge that would span 60 feet in length and 12 feet in
width across Dutch John Creek. Concrete abutments would be installed on either side of the creek
and approaches raised to meet clearance requirements.
Your work as proposed does not require Department of the Army authorization for the following
reason(s):
There are no jurisdictional waters or wetlands within the boundaries of the property.
X The proposed project does not impact jurisdictional waters or wetlands.
_ The proposed project is exempt from Department of the Army regulation.
Specify: Waters of the U.S. have been identified on the property within the project area. A
single concrete abutment and riprap will be placed below mean high water of the
stream to support the proposed bridge. All precautions should be taken to avoid
further disturbing jurisdictional areas. If work is to exceed the proposed site area,
the owner/agent must notify the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
This Department of the Army determination does not relieve the permittee of the responsibility to obtain
any other required Federal, State, or local approvals/permits. The permittee may need to contact
appropriate State and local agencies before beginning work.
Any changes in the above described work must be coordinated with the Corps of Engineers prior to
