Harris, III, P-E. N.C. Department of Transportation 1598 Mail Service Center Raleigh,NC 27699-1598 RE: B-4647 Northwest Fork Alligator River Mitigation Site, in Tyrrell County. CAMA Permit No. 98- 11, USACE Action ID No. SAW-2005-11639. Dear Mr. Harris: This letter is in response to the N.C. Department of Transportation(NCDOT) letter dated July 26, 2018 regarding the B-4647 Northwest Fork Alligator River Mitigation Site in Tyrrell County. The site consists of approximately 0.52 acres of riverine wetland restoration, of which 0.49 acres were used to offset impacts associated with the B-4647 project. The remaining 0.03 acres is considered as excess mitigation that may be used as compensatory mitigation for future projects on a case-by-case basis. The N.C. Division of Coastal Management(DCM) has reviewed the annual monitoring reports prepared by NCDOT, we have participated during interagency discussions at the NCDOT annual monitoring report meetings, and we are familiar with the site conditions. Based upon this review, DCM agrees that no further monitoring is required and that the site may be closed. Please contact Greg Daisey at Greg.Daisey ,ncdenr. ov or me at Cath_Y,Brittinghatn@ncdenr.gov if you have any questions or concerns.
