Fluoride Compliance Schedule Report-Milestone 3
NPDES permit NC0004626 was issued and effective January 1, 2018 and included a Compliance
Schedule to meet future emissions limit for fluoride, with a future effective limit of 3.7 mg/L. This
report will comply with permit requirement A(3)to provide a final status update for Milestone 3, due
June 15,2021.
As previously communicated in our March 2019 Milestone 1 letter and August 2020 Milestone 2
letters, a change to our manufacturing product line eliminated the use of fluoride in our batch
composition. This resulted in an elimination of the wet scrubber emission control device, which
contributed to the high fluoride content in our wastewater effluent discharge. We continue to operate
without the wet scrubber and have no plans to reinstate the processes that required this control
device.
Our operational changes have demonstrated that we can comply with the future fluoride limit and
have no need to modify the treatment process. This letter completes the phased milestone reports as
required by the permit.
