Mike Mehaffey (CS ORC) and Seth Boyd were present at the time of the inspection. The system appeared well maintained and operated at the time of the inspection, and record keeping appeared thorough anc up to date. The town recently completed an I&I study with their consulting engineer and is working on the recommended repairs. Recent projects include epoxy structural rehabilitation of approximately 15 manholes. Representative manholes and the single pump station owned by this collection system were opened and inspected. The following items were noted during the inspection: This system includes a relatively large number of aerial stream crossings, four of which (Ws 2, 4, 7 & 8) have been identified as particularly vulnerable to flood debris, and at least one of which is upstream of a drinking water intake. Maintenance and continued operation of these segments is a requirement of the Collection System permit. It is recommended that protection and preventative maintenance of these lines and the associated upstream areas be made a priority. In the longer term, an engineering evaluation of alternatives to the exposed aerials could be considered. The system receives flow from the privately owned and maintained Valley View Trailer Park pump station. Maintenance staff indicated that this station experiences regular operational issues and an evaluation was performed as part of this inspection. The pump station appeared to be non -compliant in a number of areas, including signage, security, pump redundancy and backup power. A separate letter addressing these issues will be transmitted to the owner of that pump station.
