The plant had a fecal exceedance on October 13th of 1200 MPN/ 100 ml. The operator reported that the sodium hypochlorite pump was tripped when he arrived as well as one of the SBR blowers. The operator
immediately restored power and made sure the pump was providing disinfectant to the effluent and the blower was providing air to the SBR. Residual checks prior to sampling show the front residual was .04
mg/L (prior to Dechlor) and the final residual was .02 mg/L (after Dechlor). The operator conducted a follow up residual check later in the day and the front residual was 1.27 mg/L and the final was .07 mg/L
confirming the disinfection had returned to the desired levels for treatment. Onwasa is continuing the rehab projects and will soon restore the scada equipment that would have alarmed and called the operator
for the power loss at the pump. The new UV and disk filters are expected to be in service by mid december 2020.
