This maintenance record will be kept in a log in a known set location. Any deficient BMP elements noted in the inspection will be corrected, repaired or replaced immediately. These deficiencies can affect the integrity of structures, safety of the public, and the removal efficiency of the BMP. Important operation and maintenance procedures: - Immediately after the bioretention cell is established, the plants will be watered twice weekly if needed until the plants become established (commonly six weeks). - Snow, mulch or any other material will NEVER be piled on the surface of the bioretention cell. - Heavy equipment will NEVER be driven over the bioretention cell. - Special care will be taken to prevent sediment from entering the bioretention cell. - Once a year, a soil test of the soil media will be conducted. After the bioretention cell is established, I will inspect it once a month and within 24 hours after every storm event greater than 1.0 inches (or 1.5 inches if in a Coastal County). Records of operation and maintenance will be kept in a known set location and will be available upon request. Inspection activities shall be performed as follows. These credits are available for purchase from our Little River Farm Site, part of Wildlands' Neuse River Riparian Buffer & Nutrient Umbrella Mitigation Bank (the "Wildlands Bank"). These credits may be purchased by developers, municipalities, or any other parties required to offset stormwater impacts resulting from new site development projects such as subdivisions, office and industrial buildings, and commercial retail centers as well as additions to existing facilities. Projects eligible for utilization of credits from the Wildlands' Bank are those requiring authorization under the requirements of 15A NCAC 2B .0233 (Meuse Buffer Rule), 15A NCAC 213 .0234 (Wastewater Discharge Requirements), 15A NCAC 2B .0235 (Basinwide Stormwater Requirements), and 15A NCAC 02B .0242 (Mitigation Program for Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Buffer); 15A NCAC 2H .0506(h) (NC Stream, Wetland and Buffer Mitigation), and 15A NCAC 213 .0240 (Nutrient Offset Payments). Session laws 2007-438 and 2009-337 provide for a preference to use credits developed by private parties over payment into the NC Ecosystem Enhancement Program. The Wildlands Bank is on the NC Division of Water Quality list of approved mitigation banks (http://Portal.ncdenr.orq/c/document library/get file?uuid=941eab4b-cc5d- 4c7c-a33f-5d25c91 c7a2c&groupld=38364)- If you have any questions regarding the purchase of these credits, please give me a call at 919-851-9986 or email at dtaylor@wildlandsinc.com.
