Dear Mr. Scarbraugh:
We are in receipt of Mr. Hodge's letter dated July 1, 2010 informing us that our request
for a minor variance from the Neuse River Buffer Protection Rules is denied.
It is our understanding that as long as we do not change the footprint of the existing
structure nor infringe upon the 50 foot Neuse River Buffer zone with the new
construction that your office would have no objection to the expansion of our home.
With this understanding, we withdraw our application for a minor variance from the
Neuse River Buffer Protection Rules.
It is our intent to continue working on this project. We still plan to raise the existing
structure. We will redesign the addition to our home so that it is outside the 50 foot
Neuse River Buffer zone.
Please contact us if we have misunderstood your agency's position.
