Markham Post Office Box 432 Elizabeth City, NC 27907 Subject Property: Causeway Marina Bulkhead Construction Pasquotank River, Pasquotank River Basin 2nd REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Dear Mr. Markham: Dee Freeman DWQ Project # 10-0304 Camden County On April 26, 2010, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your CAMA Major Permit dated April 13, 2010 to impact 5,950 square feet of open water to construct the proposed bulkhead with associated backfill. The DWQ has determined that your application is incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ requires additional information in order to process your application to impact protected wetland, streams and/or buffers on the subject property. A request for additional information was issued to you, from this Office, on June 8, 2010. As of the date of this letter no written response has been received by this Office. Therefore, unless we receive the additional information requested below, we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 21-1.0506 and 213 .0233(8) and your application will be returned as incomplete. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project. Additional Information Requested: 1. General Certification Number 3641 only allows bulkhead installation and associated fill 10 feet water ward of the existing shoreline. It is therefore necessary to reduce water ward impacts by relocating the proposed bulkhead landward. Changes to plans and drawings should be forwarded to this Office as part of your response. Please respond in writing to the DWQ within 10 days of receipt of this letter with the requested information. If we do not hear from you within 10 days, we will assume that you no longer want to pursue this project and we will consider the project as withdrawn. This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters or protected buffers. Please be aware that any impacts requested within your application are not authorized (at this time) by the DWQ.
