I'm a little late with this e-mail, but I'm sure you don't mind. I am sorting through past letters on the previous reports to determine some of the past concerns and to figure out where we are in the yearly reporting (year 5 or are we set back from when they had to replant in '99/'00), Some of you involved from the beginning may can help me out. Take a look at the report and provide any feedback if you have problems with it. If possible, pis respond by the end of the month. Thanks for YOUf time, -Mickey *Kelly, I copied you since you were on the list that received the report, Not certain how much involvement you had in the development of this bank, 1 of 1 2/19/033:03 PM e: !.Sarra ynase 11 meeting Subject: Re: Barra Phase II meeting Date: Tue, 13 May 2003 09:57:08 -0400 From: John Dorney <john,dorney@ncmail.net> To: Amanda Mueller <amanda,mueller@ncmail.net>, Edward Schwartzman <edward.schwartzman@ncmail.net> the other option (just occured to me) is that ed could go since he was at the other site visit as i recall. ed - your thoughts? Also, I have invited Ron Myers of NC Forest Service, whom I think some of you may know from the DOT Mildred Woods site, to give us, or at least me, some insight on how to appropriately control volunteer species (red maple/lob pine/black willow) in Phase II. My plan is to develop a more specific contingency plan for vegetation that will address potential problems (too many vol.species...) that may occur. I think this will be beneficial in the fact that the sponsor will know what to expect and, more importantly, for agency personnel that review the monitoring reports tol have a better understanding on how to deal wi th the problems if they surface, especially if there are changes in personnel within the monitoring review period. The contingency plan will not be able to confront all the problems that may surface, but at least it will be a good backbone structure and will give the MBRT some direction. If possible, I would like to schedule it on May 22 or 23. I know that's shorter notice than you're use to, but conflicts abound in Ron and my schedules. I don't anticipate it to be an all day affair, maybe 2-3 hours,Just let me know as soon as possible. Thanks and have a good weekend,-Mickey 5/16/039:51 AM 1Atl\ Go 1\ \I ~vft~V\ C~ 0-\'O{<'2- /'~f\\~\0eG-\--\ bIlL O~ r;,\b V~vJ~ S~ . be lNO~\~ Q~ WOe; C~ fA v. v0 \- "f~ UJM .) ~ \ lC)\6) ~ l1-~ L{~dCJ ~ \ ~ V; _ I. ~(\ CC1 v5) q1-1 /0015 ()\JI\\st\
