The proposed Project includes the replacement of approximately 3,125
linear feet of 30-inch pipe adjacent to an existing Piedmont Natural Gas
right of way (ROW). Approximately 725 feet of pipeline would be
constructed and installed via open -cut method from the existing ROW to
the Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) entry and exit points and
approximately 2,400 feet of pipeline will be installed via HDD method
beneath Rocky River. The new pipeline will be approximately 52 feet below
ground where it crosses the Rocky River. The portions of pipeline that will
be installed via the open -cut method are in an existing active agriculture
field on the west side of the Rocky River and in an existing maintained
ROW of the east side of the Rocky River. Additional Project components
include an approximately 1,800-foot-long temporary pipe string area, an
approximately 16-acre temporary area, and 4,875 feet of extant access
roads.
