The proposed project includes expansion of the permitted capacity of the
Town's wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and spray irrigation facility
from 133,430 gpd to a maximum annual average flow of 300,000 gpd, and
a maximum monthly flow of 350,000 gpd. The project is proposed to be
completed in two phases. The first phase includes expanding the spray
field area by adding 45.14 wetted acres of land on adjacent parcels to the
existing WWTP. Phase 1 will increase capacity to 207,630 gpd annual
average flow. The proposed work on the WWTP and spray irrigation facility
will include improvements at the influent bar screen structure and
headworks, construction of an additional chlorine contact basin, new
irrigation pump station, replacement of sprinklers in the existing fields 1-3,
construction of a new irrigation force main to the new spray fields and
irrigation system with control valves. In addition, the phase 1 project
includes upgrades to the Parker Street Lift Station to replace pumps,
piping, valves and controls, and to rehabilitate the existing wet well.
