Hello Mr. Perez,
No new photos to share yet, as we are holding for the trees to be dug. We have submitted the following list to the
nursery. The planned installation dates from our landscaper to then plant the trees are Oct 26 — 29. Cutting it close, I
know, so we are checking regularly on progress at the nursery.
List of trees we have ordered (based on availability):
1 - Autumn Flame Maple
1 - October Glory Maple
1 - Red Sunset Maple
2 - Autumn Blaze Maple
3 - River Birch
4 - Rubra Dogwood
3 - White Dogwood
2 - Black Gum Wildfire
2 - Oak Coccinea
1 - Oak Phellos
1 - Oak Rubra
1 - Oak Shumardii
1 - Valley Forge Elm
23 Total
I will keep you posted on any updates.
Thanks,
Mike Freberg

Hi Mike,
I'm just following up to see how things are progressing with the planting. If you could send along any pictures, that
would be most appreciated. Either way, let me know.
Cheers,
1
Doug

That's fine. As long as it gets done by the end of October. I can't extend it out any further than that however.

Hello Mr. Perez,
This is to update you on our progress to date on our project, and to ask a timing request.
1. The first two photos show our yard before any of the work was started. They are the "before" photos.
2. The second photos show our yard after a) the buried pipeline (from the driveway) was completed, with
the flared -end diffuser exiting in the riprap in the buffer zone (photo "RipRap01"), and b) the
continuation of the riprap along the matching portion of shoreline. (This is the shoreline stabilization
portion permitted with Duke — starting at the right property line and extending approx. 25' to the small
pine tree — photo "RipRap02" ).
3. We have had a surveyor mark the 30' zone so that we can accurately plant the 23 trees into the buffer.
We are now ready to plant the trees.
4. However, due to the delays (multiple rain and waiting for Duke permit approval) in completing the
mentioned pipeline installation and shoreline stabilization projects, our tree procurement time has
ended up during the period when no nurseries are digging trees. The landscaper that we have been
working with has been scouring nurseries and tree farms to come up with 23 trees in the needed size
and NC native species.
They have found the soonest availability to be with Fitzgerald Nursery in Morganton, NC. We just learned that
they don't recommend digging until mid -October to ensure that the dug trees will survive. We are getting a
quote from them and can provide you with the dig quote showing the proposed date.
So our request to you is an extension of the deadline for planting the trees, until the end of October, to allow
for the procurement and planting of quality trees.
Please let us know your comments,
Best Regards,
Mike and Cindy Freberg
