Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to report.spam@nc.gov Good afternoon folks On March 9 2020, a meeting was held to provide resource agencies an opportunity to review preliminary designs for this project. At that meeting, the R-5777C project team agreed to reach back out to the agencies following the planned pubic meeting and selection of preferred alternative. Since then, a virtual public outreach effort was launched in August, comments were received and responded to, and a preferred alternative was selected. Based on consideration of impacts and comments received from the public and local officials, the preferred alternative is a combination of the following:  Stately Pines Road- Alternative B (U.S. 70 UNDER Stately Pines)  West Fisher Road/East Fisher Avenue- Alternative A (U.S. 70 OVER Fisher Road/Avenue)  West Camp Kiro Road/East Camp Kiro Road- Alternative A (U.S. 70 0VER Camp Kiro Road) A map of the preferred alternative can be found on the project website https://www.ncdot.gov/projects/us-70-james-city- havelock-bypass/Pages/project-maps.aspx. Additional updates to the project website include:  alternatives maps updated to include areas where “reasonable and feasible noise abatement” is recommended for further investigation during the Design Noise Report, which will be completed during the design build phase of the project  responses to public comments  updated project schedule; and  table of estimated impacts for the preferred alternative.
