The existing bridge is 86 ft.long x 29.3 ft.wide and located on a paved secondary road.The general land use is predominantly forested with some agriculture and residential dwellings.

The proposed purpose of the project is to replace the existing functionally obsolete and structurally deficient 83 ft.long x 29.3 ft.wide bridge with a 125 ft.long x 33 ft.wide bridge in
accordance with NCDOT standards.
4i.Describe the overall project in detail,including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used:*
Remove existing bridge structure and replace with 125 ft.long x 33 ft.wide bridge.An existing waterline that conflicts with the construction of the new structure will also be relocated.
The project will be constructed with standard roadway construction equipment which includes excavators,backhoes,and cranes.

Slopes in jurisdictional areas are 3:1 to minimize impacts.Between Sta.15+30 to 16+33 LT slopes were reduced to 1.5:1 and rock plated to minimize
impact to the maximum extent practicable.

Top down construction will be utilized on this project.Strict implementation of SE&C BMP's will be utilized to protect water of the US in accordance with
NCDOT's NPDES Permit No.00250 and NCG01.
