Wanted to give you heads-up. I will be doing this via on-line PCN as required by DWR and will include a cover letter. I just want to make sure that individual water impact sites are not remaining open for extended lengths of time. As long as the contractors are starting a site, completing the work and then closing it out, and the issue is spreading out when each site is started and completed vs spreading out the time it takes to complete each site, then I'm ok with the work exceeding permitting timeline thresholds and reissuing a new permit. I appreciate that you are trying to stay ahead of this. Whenever you want to request the permit reissue is fine with me. I believe the contract was let in December-ish. It is about 4 miles long, so yeah, it is not huge, but still pretty large. Due to staging and traffic shifts on the large projects that I have seen, contractors have not been able to knock-out all stream work upfront. Instead they may do say half of the crossing and other stream work initially, then concentrate on road work, and then come back the next year and finish remaining culverts, or something like that. I don't know the contract time off-hand, but I am guessing they have at least a couple years on completing construction. So, I apologize, I should not have said certainly, but rather likely. My plan with the 1-year"grace" period is to wait till much later this year to see if they actually would not get done, as I am guessing, then reapply if needed. Would that be okay? Sorry, not trying to create more work, just trying to make sure I do not miss anything. Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify.Send all suspicious email as an attachment to report.spam@nc.gov Dave, Just to follow up on this, why won't it be done in the next year. its not a huge permit or a huge stretch of road corridor. Has any work already began? If construction in waters has already started, we certainly wouldn't want to see construction in the waters drawing out for over a year. If Crystal gives you a grace period then you wouldn't need to apply until that time is over. Feel free to contact me if you have questions. So, can you please provide some guidance on how and when we should go about the renewal? Should we resubmit all the information, which has not changed, via on-line PCN? Or do this via email with an updated permit narrative only? I see too that this would now be a GP50 I believe as GP31 will only cover going forward merger projects? Thanks for guidance.
