This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0079057. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this inspection report is not required. Section D: Summary of Finding/Comments (Attach additional sheets of narrative and checklists as necessary) On 10:30 am on 10/27/2020 Paul Mays from the Division of Water Resources with the Division of Water Resources conducted a compliance evaluation of Manteo WWTP. The facility was fount to be compliant with NPDES permit #NC0079057 and below are the findings of the compliance evaluation: The facility and grounds were well maintained and clean. The facility has a contract lab onsite (Envirochem Services, Inc). Influent sampler was at 5 degrees Celsius and a 350ml sample was obtained every hour. Effluent sampler was at 4 degrees Celsius and a 600ml sample was obtained every hour. DO was kept between 1.5mg/I to 1.8mg/I in the oxidation ditch, in the final train according to the ORC at the time of the visit. Where DO was observed during the inspection it was 1.98mg/I. MLSS in oxidation ditch was currently at 3200 according to ORC. They have abundant spare parts for many critical parts of the plant onsite. The sludge blanket was only 1 ft in each clarifier. The effluent meter was calibrated on 10/06/2020 by Delta Systems. Outfall line is offshore and has a marker about 300-400 yards offshore. Effluent looks great and completely clear. The facility uses 12.5% Sodium Hypochlorite. The Facility uses Sodium Bisulfite for de -chlorination. The July 2020 DMR was spot checked with corresponding lab data. No discrepancies were found. All records that were requested for the inspection were readily available, organized and maintained as required by permit.
