Please give a brief project description below.
The sewer line extension will start at an existing 12-inch sewer outfall line
manhole. The 10-inch sewer line will be approximately 1898 linear feet in
length with 9 new manholes at various depths with an aerial crossing of
approximately 30 linear feet, and a temporary trenching disturbance of 3
foot wide by 4 foot deep a maximum of 30 feet long of a blue line stream
using a pump around method. The equipment to be used will be utility
construction equipment to include track hoes and excavators.

The City of Morganton is in the process of extending our current sanitary sewer line referenced and described
below.
Project Name: City of Morganton Sewer Line Extension WPCC Campus.
Project Location: 298 E College Dr. Morganton, NC 28655, City of Morganton, Burke County.

GIS map, USGS map, Sewer alignment map, and Photographs of the site.
The proposed sewer line extension project is located on portion of a rural property containing 169 acres with the
proposed sewer line extension alignment crossing an existing farm field area consisting of grass lands. No structures
are located within the sewer easement area that consists of approximately 1,900 linear feet and will have installed
within its boundaries, a 10-inch diameter sewer line, DIP and PVC, 9 manholes and various other sewer main
apparatus for the sewer line extension. During construction, the trench will be approximately 4-feet in width, with
various depths ranging from 2-feet to 13.5-feet. The extension will begin at an existing sewer line outfall manhole,
crossunder an intermittent tributary, with a minimum depth of 2-feet under ditch bed with DIP sewer line and ending
the sewer line with a manhole.
The City originally reached out to the Army Corp for a non -notifying NP12 permit and communicated with US Fish
and Wildlife. Our final step in receiving the NP12 permit is a letter from the NC State Historic Preservation Office
approving the project. The City is currently in the process of applying for a Fast -Track Application for Gravity
Sewer and the Flow Tracking/Acceptance for Sewer Extension Permit Applications from NCDEQ.
