Install new vinyl retaining wall directly in front of the failing wooden retaining
wall, as close as possible, while allowing room to make tieback connections.
Material will be installed from the top, on the road side, with an excavator
and vibratory hammer. There will be foot traffic only on the wetland side.

Arboretum Dr., East & West Walls
We propose to furnish the labor, equipment and materials necessary to install: A new vinyl
seawall. East wall will be 165' long with 1' — 9' exposure. West wall will be 180' long with 1' —
9' exposure.
Construction shall be as follows:
Wall shall have one (1) continuous 8" x 8" treated lumber wale for the entire length of the
wall. Wale will be attached to post with 5/8" galvanized timber bolts.
Wall material will be ESP 8.5 or equivalent vinyl sheet pile. This material will be 18" wide
and 10' —16' long. Vinyl will be driven into the ground with a vibratory hammer and attached to
wales with stainless -steel screws or 5/16" HD galvanized lag bolts.
Tiebacks on wall will be 3/4" galvanized rods. These will be located every 5' +l- down
the entire length of wall. Rods will be attached from the 8" x 8" wale to the pilings on the existing
wooden wall in order to prevent excessive excavation.
Top cap will consist of cedar color "Wear Deck" reinforced polymeric decking, installed
perpendicular to the wall. This decking will be 20" wide and will be attached to upper wale and
back wale using stainless steel screws.
