Mitchell Water Treatment Plant in Greensboro, NC will be making
improvements to the plant which will include a new 12-inch ductile iron force
main from the plant to the new 54-inch sanitary sewer line being designed
by others on E. Lake Drive. The installation of the 12-inch force main will
include crossing North Buffalo Creek at a 105 degree angle. The pipe will
be installed by jack and bore, approximately 123 feet under Benjamin
Parkway. The remainder of the piping will be installed by open cut trench
methods, including North Buffalo Creek. Approximately 100 LF of clearing
will need to be done within North Buffalo Creek riparian buffer to install
piping. The red cloud in the attach drawing indicates where the clearing will
be.
