Dear Mr. Reddy,
As you are aware, the State has been sampling and investigating sources of PFAS as a
parameter of concern in the Cape Fear River Basin. Due to the receiving stream water supply
usage to which this facility discharges, the State requests additional PFAS sampling at this
facility. Pursuant to 15A NCAC 02B .0505 and .0508, the Division is requiring several
industrial facilities to sample for PFAS in the plant's effluent once per month for the next 6
months using the Department of Defense compliant method"PFAS by LCMSMS Compliant
with Table B-15 of QSM 5.1 or latest version".
Monthly effluent sampling for Arclin USA facility shall commence in December 2020 and
results shall be submitted using the PFAS Industrial Input Spreadsheet located on the Permitting
Forms page of our website here. . (The URL for the spreadsheet is:
https://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/water-resources/water-quality-permitting/npdes-
wastewater/npdes-permitting-process-0, click on"PFAS Industrial Input Spreadsheet"). Please
submit the completed spreadsheet along with your eDMRs as a supplemental form.
Additionally,please send a second copy of the completed spreadsheet to Anjali Orlando,
Environmental Senior Specialist, DWR at anjali.orlandoAncdenr.gov.
