Never happened before, but I don't have any real comments on this project as far as impacts. I
am well aware of the various directives and requirements regarding natural resources on airport
projects. The proposed alternative appears to be the least damaging in terms of impacts. No-
build is not an option.
The proposed mitigation looks fine in that most of the mitigation (including both stream and
wetland) is at 2:1. Removal of the fence project culverts is basically self-mitigating. Riparian
zones must be maintained/mowed herbaceous only. Mitigation requires is 3,704 If of stream and
14 acres of wetland.
My only issue is that EEP is to provide all the mitigation. I have done some preliminary checking
and I don't know how much mitigation they have in Little Tennessee 02. Or in the whole Little
Tennessee Basin for that matter. I am going to look into this further.
