This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NCG550296. Page#1 DocuSign Envelope ID: 3EFBCB63-815B-4D6F-BCF3-513D43E3A0D3 9/17/2020 9/17/2020 NPDES yr/mo/day 20/09/14 Inspection Type C3111218 1 Section D: Summary of Finding/Comments (Attach additional sheets of narrative and checklists as necessary) Inspector Mikal Willmer, with the Asheville Regional Office, conducted a compliance evaluation inspection of the single-family residence wastewater disposal system that services 2043 Sutton Rd (11 Ola Bea). This inspection was conducted to determine whether the system was being operated and maintained in compliance with General NPDES Permit NCG550000. No one was onsite at the time of the inspection; however, our office spoke with Ms. Sutton's brother recently in regards to the system and status of the property. At the time of the last inspection, the property appeared to be vacant. Ms. Sutton does not reside at this property and water has been turned off to the house for several years. The system is permitted for a septic tank, subsurface sand filter and associated piping that discharges to Cove Creek. Treatment components are not visible (all subsurface construction) and an effluent pipe was not located. The septic tank and sand filter are located on the east side of the property. It is unclear, but ARO records indicate an effluent pipe was never connected to the system and the sand filter effluent was constructed to discharge to the subsurface. Records from a 1986 compliance evaluation inspection (a year or two after construction) state no effluent pipe was located. Please note should any one occupy the house in the future, our office should be notified and the systems operability should be evaluated before use. Even though the house is not currently occupied, inspections will still be conducted, at a minimum, once every five years. NCG550296 17 (Cont.)
