IP Modification Request
Dear Crystal:
In November of 2009, you modified an Individual Permit for the Surf City Market
project, located at the intersection of Highways 17 and 210 in Pender County, NC. The
modification authorized the phasing of wetland impacts and allowed the applicant to pay into the
NC EEP in phases as well. At the time, it was anticipated that 0.2 acre of wetland impact was
needed in Phase 1. The applicant has now determined that Phase 1 impacts will actually be 0.55
acre because the construction of an access road that connects this parcel to Highways 17 and 210
is needed (please see attached map). I formally request a new modification to the IP that
authorizes the mitigation of 0.55 acre of wetland impact in Phase 1 and the mitigation for the
remainder of impacts (4.06 acres) in Phase 2.
Once we receive this modification, we will contact the NC EEP and request an invoice
for Phase 1 of development. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or if
