This verification is valid until the NWP is modified, reissued, or revoked. All of the existing NWPs are scheduled to be modified,
reissued, or revoked prior to March 18, 2012. It is incumbent upon you to remain informed of changes to the NWPs. We will issue a
public notice when the NWPs are reissued. Furthermore, if you commence or are under contract to commence this activity before the
date that the relevant nationwide permit is modified or revoked, you will have twelve (12) months from the date of the modification or

Park.

Innstallation rip rap apron with fabric in the existing 404 wetlands for the purpose of being part of the drainage outfall for
the proposed subdivision. This satisfies an erosion control requirement of NCDENR.

The project will consist of the construction of 919' of road and utilities to serve 18 lots. The upland development will be
done with use of tracked excavators, dozers and grading machines. The area that encroaches on the jurisdictional
wetlands as well as the outfall Swale within the wetlands will be completed manually. This 404 encroachment area shall
be used to house the rip rap apron & fabric which is required by NCDENR.

1. Avoidance and Minimization

The project was designed to include a 100' minimum of outlet swale prior to releasing drainage into the 404 wetlands. This is
a requirement from NCDENR. This requirement was satisfied by re-reouting street drainage into a single drainage swale
centered in the subdivision. The drainage was then routed through a proposed 30" pipe just to the edge of the 404 wetlands.
The only impact from this point on within the 404 wetlands will be the installation of the rip rap apron & fabric.

The work in the area in the swale downstream from the outfall will be done manually as to make any disturbance minimal and
to maintain the natural characteristics of the existing swale.
