TIPNo. R-2813 B
Buncombe County
Dear Mr. Swain:
On March 26, 2010, I inspected the construction work on Interstate 26-NC Highway 146 project (Long Shoals
Road) in Buncombe County. Construction work on the I-26 and Long Shoals Road bridges are continuing
with most of the bridge work completed. Contractors are now working on the new I-26 on and off ramps.
Please continue to ensure that all sediment and erosion control structures are maintained and that seeding and
mulching are performed as needed to protect downstream waters. Please refer to the attached inspection report
for any specific items noted during the inspection.
If you have questions, please call me at 828-296-4500.
?Sincerely,
Michael R. Parker VV

Bridge Work is almost complete. Work is now underway on 1-26 on and off ramps.
The area parallel to NC 146 west of Ledbetter road should be seeded and mulched. Also, any areas or drop
inlets in the median and under the new 1-26 bridges should be maintained to prevent sediment loss.
Continue to maintain erosion control devices and continue with seeding and matting as required.
All track on material, especially along the on and off ramps should be removed by sweeping.
