Dear Dr. Thorpe:
You have our approval, in accordance with the conditions listed below, for the following stream and wetland
impacts for the purpose of making upgrades to US 220 (future 1-73/74) in Randolph County. The stream impacts
occur in three unnamed tributaries. Sites 1&2 involve a UT to Big Branch, Class "C" waters in the Yadkin Pee Dee
River basin. Site3 is a UT to Cedar Fork Creek, also Class "C" waters in the Yadkin Pee Dee Basin. ; Site 4 involves.
a UT to Haskett Creek, Class "C" waters in the Cape Fear River Basin. In the original approval dated Novemh'ert
23, 2009, mitigation was required for the resetting of 4 LF of 36" pipe at site 2. Actual impacts were clarified,
and the impact table revised to reflect a reduced mitigation requirement. Site 4 is an additional stream and
wetland impact site that has been identified on the project (this site was not identified in the previous .
application).
This version of the 401 Water Quality Certification is to address your request to process this certification as General
Water Quality Certifications Numbers 3689 and 3701. These certification numbers correspond to the Nationwide 13
and 23 issued by the Corps of Engineers. At this time, no additional impacts have been requested or are authorized.
